Indium Tin Oxide Coated Plastic
If you are looking for Indium Tin Oxide coated plastic, you are definitely in the right place… Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) coatings provide a clear film onto a substrate that is optically clear and electrically conductive.
At ITO Plastic our range of substrates include polycarbonate, acrylic and also polyester film. Our parent company Diamond Coatings also specialise in ITO glass.
Indium Tin Oxide coated plastic is utilised in many industries, including aerospace, automotive and space exploration, as well as military and defence, and research and development. You may also be reading this article on your smartphone or tablet (which may utilise an ITO coated screen).
Our polycarbonate substrate is available with a choice of finishes – hard coated, anti-glare and flame resistant. Acrylics can be supplied with additional scratch resistant properties.
Indium Tin Oxide Coated Plastic Options
Polycarbonate – They are used so widely partly due to their ease of machining and because they are easily moulded and thermoformed. When ITO coated, polycarbonates offer the superior optical properties expected and are highly conductive as well as being temperature and impact resistant.
Acrylic – Is a useful alternative to glass. In fact, it could be classed as superior to glass due to its durability and significantly reduced weight. The acrylic sheets are hand-made and inspected to the highest optical specification. Although Polycarbonates are more durable, acrylics are much better optically.
Polyester film – ITO coated polyester film has a conductive surface whilst remaining transparent, making them suitable for use in such applications as medical sensors, LCD displays, EMI/RFI shielding and transparent heaters. These films are often chosen to meet specifications for applications in many industries due to their processing tolerance alongside their suitable for engineering.
